The Ecology Center

Self-guided programs: We offer a number of ecology and outdoor education activities from our Ecology Center. There is a small fee per 1.5 hour session, $15 + HST or Scouting Groups, $20 + HST for Guiding Units.

>>A play on "Go Fish", a card game to learn more about the insects at Camp Opemikon

>Nature Detective

>>Investigate all of the living things at Camp Opemikon

>>A hide and seek predator vs prey game.

>Tree Trail Program

>>Learn more about the variety of trees around Camp Opemikon

>Water Cycle

>>Fun experiments to learn more about the water cycle

Archery

Certification to run the range: In accordance with Scouts Canada's Standards, at least one Scouter must be a Certified Range Instructor. The course for this certification is available at: Archery Canada. Sessions are 2 hours for a maximum of 24 participants. 

Scouting Groups: $100/group, Guiding Units: $115 + HST

Archery is booked online through the registration system prior to your stay (in the “Programs Saturday Use only” drop-down menu).

Low ropes

Guided program: Ideal for beaver and cub ages, the low ropes course is a facilitated activity, per Scouts' Challenge Course Standards.  The Opemikon Rover Crew have certified personnel to operate the course but Groups must confirm that a trained facilitator is available.

1.5 hrs session, $50 +HST for Scouting groups and $57.50 + HST for Guiding groups, session max capacity 24.

High ropes

Guided program: Offered for Scout youth and older, the high ropes course is a facilitated activity, per Scouts' Challenge Course Standards.  The Opemikon Rover Crew have certified personnel to operate the course but Groups must confirm that a trained facilitator is available.

2 hrs session, $125.00 + HST for Scouting Groups and $140 + HST for Guiding groups, maximum capacity of 24 per session.

Digital Self Guided Programs

Self guided programs: Free for anyone to use, there are a variety of programs for your group to run at camp or anywhere your group is having a meeting or event.
